Looking for a fun gift idea?
Grab your favorite camera and take pictures! I am a dork for old cameras that I can find cheaply at thrift stores or yard sales, but any camera will do. Find some fun, funky frames for $1.00 and add your own flare to them by painting them a fun color!
Then, VOILA! You have a fun gift that is made originally by YOU. Come on… How can you pass that up?
Oh, and if you’re feeling selfish, make one for yourself!

Whoever said you had to go out to Pier 1 and get expensive artwork and wicker chairs, that someone else made? They obviously weren’t working on a budget. Here’s a little something that I like to do:
Go to some of my favorite stores like Pier 1, World Market, or IKEA and find things that I like that are WAY overpriced. Then I steal the ideas and make my own version! I call it “Creative idea stealing”. Yes, and it’s fun! Find the stuff you like and fill your apartment with your own style.
Here are some more fun ideas for decorating on a budget.
Thrift store finds:
Used picture frames
Paint an old window
Take your own pictures
Gather knick nacks and make a wind chime
Paint a chalk board on your wall
Get creative and find things around the apartment to decorate with. $0 dollars spent. Yay fun!
Above: My friend gave me a shelf that just sat around collecting dust. So I decided to make it a tea shelf.

Workout for… CHEAP!
Yeah, it’s for real. I’m not talking about going outside to run (that’s obviously free). I’m talking about Pilates and Yoga classes taught by teachers in training. Every city has them. I know, because I am one of these Pilates instructors in training. Most studios have practice classes or private lessons at cheap, cheap rates. Yes, you will be a practice body but you can still get a great workout and pay next to nothing. Plus, when they are finished with you, there will be other new teachers ready for the next body to practice on!
Shop for furniture at thrift stores around town. You never know what you might find! A hidden treasure might be down the street waiting for you to take it home.
